SALUT TEIJE

The last weeks I've been working hard on several birth announcement cards and stamps.
Teije was born on the first of July...five weeks early!
But his mum and he did well, and they headed home quite soon.
The room wasn't ready yet and they hadn't thought of the birth announcement card yet.
How brave that they went for a couple of stamps and stamped it all themselves.
And I was very pleased to be asked to design the stamps for them!
They wanted a text at the front with an illustration of a (super)baby and a namestamp for the backside. It was very nice to receive the endresult in my postbox. Lovely card, well done Josje & Folkert!

Afgelopen weken heb ik aan meerdere geboortekaartjes en stempels gewerkt.
Teije was de eerste, hij werd geboren op 1 juli, maar liefst vijf weken te vroeg.
Maar hij deed het hartstikke goed samen met zijn moeder en ze mochten als snel huiswaarts.
Daar bogen ze zich voor het eerst over geboortekaartjes, daar waren ze nog niet aan toegekomen.
Hoe gaaf dat ze besloten iets met stempels te doen en al het stempelwerk zelf te doen!
Ik mocht een paar stempels voor hen ontwerpen. Ze wilden op de voorzijde de tekst 'Niet te stuiten' en een illustratie van een (super) baby. Op de achterzijde een naamstempel.
Wat een mooie opdracht en wat een mooie bijkomstigheid bij het afleveren van de stempels om zo'n mooie jonge wereldbewoner te mogen bewonderen!! Heel bijzonder.
Het eindresultaat ontving ik in mijn brievenbus, zo leuk! Well done Josje & Folkert, het is mooi geworden!

LUCKY LUCKY

That's how I feel!
I caught myself singing on my bike last week, when I headed to my work at Coffee Bru.
It's was one those moments that I realised I am very happy!
Quitting my job was an excellent choice :>)
I got myself three jobs in return that bring a nice balanced mix.
A mixture of working with children, being creative in creating my yogalessons for them, being creative in the stamps that I make, the joy and peacefulness in making stamps...and the vivicaty and social contacts at Coffee Bru.
I can't believe the lovely stamp commissions I receive. Recently I have been working on a couple of birth announcement stamps and cards. I will proudly present those soon on this blog.
Meanwhile a selfportrait that  I made for my portfolio book. It's a notebook with all my commissioned stamps in it. A happy & blessed Stefanie :>)

Vorige week betrapte ik mezelf erop dat ik fluitend op de fiets naar mijn werk bij Coffee Bru zat.
Ik besefte me dat ik gelukkig ben! Mijn baan opzeggen is zo'n goede zet geweest. Ik ben nu ruim een jaar verder en heb er drie banen voor terug gekregen! Samen vormen ze een mooie mix. Werken en het contact met kinderen, creativiteit in het ontwikkelen van mijn kinderyogalessen voor hen, creativiteit in de stempels, de rust en plezier die stempels maken mij geeft...maar ook een stukje sociaal contact en fijne collega's bij Coffee Bru.
Soms kan ik gewoon amper geloven wat voor gave stempelopdrachten er binnen komen. De een na de ander! Afgelopen weken heb ik aan een paar geboortekaartjes mogen werken. Dat was altijd al een droom van me...en nu doe ik het ECHT! :>) Binnenkort post ik ze op mijn blog.
Ergens tussendoor maakte ik een zelfportretje, vond ik leuk om op mijn portfolio-noteboekje te stempelen! A happy & blessed Stefanie :>)

PARLOR COFFEE

What I like about carving stamps by hand that it stays challenging. This was a commissioned stamp for Parlor Coffee in Belgium and one of those nice challenges! I really had to focus on this one. Hardest part was to cut the area around the letters clean, without damaging the cirkle.
And...I made it in phases not all at once. Quite pleased with the result!

Wat ik zo leuk vind aan het maken van stempelopdrachten dat er steeds weer nieuwe uitdagingen blijven aanmelden!
Dit was er ook zo één...ik moest me echt goed concentreren en heb de stempel dan ook in fases gesneden. Dan kon ik er weer fris aan beginnen. Het moeilijkste was het schoonsnijden van de letters. Ik had namelijk weinig bewegingsruimte door de cirkel. Maar...het was weer gelukt en was best tevreden met het resultaat. Zal mooi staan op de papercups!

ELSKE & LOTTIE

Two stamps for two lovely little girls: Elske & Lottie.
My daughter AnnA loved playing with them at the nursery. Sadly enough they are moving to Groningen. As a goodbye present they gave all the kids some lovely dried fruits with a finger puppet. A froggie for Anna, and my inspiration for two quick namestamps for them with the frog.

Twee stempels voor twee lieve meisjes: Elske & Lottie. Mijn Anna speelde graag met hen op de kinderopvang. Jammer genoeg zijn ze naar Groningen verhuisd.
Alle kids kregen een mooi zakje gedroogd fruit met een vingerpoppetje. Anna kreeg een kikker, meteen mijn inspiratie om twee snelle naamstempels voor hen te maken...met die kikker ;>)
Succes in Groningen meisjes!

LOVE IS IN THE AIR

Funny how something can be 'in the air' somehow...a few weeks ago it was Weddings stamps that was in my air ;>)
I received two different commissions for two weddings.
One stamp for a couples' wedding card, to stamp their envelopes and much more on their wedding day. :>)
They had their own logo: MR, that happened to be their first names and they're both Master (law). Nice!

And three stamps for a couple who celebrated their wedding in a circus / burlesque stylo.
Lovely commission: design some stamps in that style. One with the famous moustache and one with both their names put together: Klaas & Eef...KLEEF
I really enjoyed making these and I think stamps are perfect Wedding Gifts!

 

 

 

 

ALOUETTE

First, I made a few stamps for Estafette, named after the cool Renault bus where Fanny lady is going to make her lovely coffees. Not only that, she is going to make her own roasts as well! Really cool.
But then...it appeared to be another type Renault bus, the Alouette, o dear.
So I made her an Alouette version. And somehow that stamp never arrived (TNT troubles) :>(.
Third time lucky: I made the Alouette stamp again and we added 'coffee' to it.
I have to say, the stamp is all complete now (together with the bus stamp) and arrived safely!

Allereerst maakte ik een paar stempels voor Estafette, voor Fanny die een Renault Estafette bus ombouwt naar koffiebus voor events. Ze brandt zelfs haar eigen koffiebonen!
Alleen...toen bleek het geen Estafette bus te zijn, maar een ander type, de Alouette! Oeps.
Dus maakte ik een Alouette stamp, maar die stempel kwam maar niet aan (en nog steeds niet, TNT troubles).
Typisch geval van driemaal is scheepsrecht: ik maakte de Alouette stempel nog een keer, met het woord 'coffee' toegevoegd. En ik moet eerlijk zeggen. De stempel is nu helemaal compleet (met de bus stamps erbij) & goed aangekomen. Pfiew. :>)
